Libraries’ Manager praised

Library Friends pay tribute to retiring head librarian

The chair of the Friends of the Kapiti Coast District Libraries, Janel Secker, has paid tribute to the accomplishments of retiring District Librarian Leslie Clague (see story).

Mrs Secker says: “Leslie Clague has been Libraries’ Manager during five demanding and stressful years.

“She has been responsible for overseeing the introduction of many new technical and administrative initiatives, which she has carried out with enthusiasm, good humour and calm efficiency.

“She has overseen the opening of the new library at Paekakariki; and has worked with her staff to improve the services in all four district libraries in many ways.”

And Mrs Secker says the ‘friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the libraries’ is due to Ms Clague and her fellow librarians.

Mrs Secker adds: “She has been has been encouraging to the Friends of the Libraries and has worked closely with them in support of all their activities.

“On behalf of the reading public, we thank her for all her hard work and dedication, and wish her a happy retirement.”
