Kapiti Youth Council visit the Beehive
The Minister of Social Development, Paula Bennett ,and local MP Nathan Guy hosted a mini invasion from Kāpiti ,when the Kāpiti Coast Youth Council visited Parliament this week.
At a meeting in Mr Guy’s office , Council members updated the politicians on youth -focused projects in Kāpiti as part of the Youth2U Action plan.As well as the face-to-face with politicians, Council members toured of the Beehive and sat in on Question Time.

Youth Council member Claire Reeves says visiting the Beehive, and especially meeting Ministers Bennett and Guy, was a valuable experience.
“There is something about being in the corridors that is quite inspiring. The politicians seemed genuinely interested in what’s happening in Kāpitil and wished us every success with our projects,” she says.
The Kāpiti Coast Youth Council, which won the Supreme Award in this year’s Youth in Local Government Awards, is now recruiting new members.
Applicants must live within the Kāpiti Coast District and be aged 14 to -24.
