Helen Tristram, custodian of the Puka Puka LIttle Library in Karaka Grove, Raumati Beach, says the new library has been attracting assorted readers already.

But she says a new attraction will make Puka Puka a valuable destination, with a collector’s item added to the library from to time.
This weeke4nd she says the special book is a sought-after NZ War History — ‘Divisional Signals’, by C.A. Borman.
This official war history covers the fortunes of the Signals Regiment, from1939-45.
The unit took part in many key battles, including El Alamein, Cassino, the attack on the Gothic Line, and the final Italian offensive which ended in the streets of Trieste in May 1945.
Helen Tristram says the book is a little battered, like the NZ soldiers at the end of the war, but a brilliant record of a key unit of the 2nd NZ Division.
