QUAKES AND QUAKES22nd December 2009
A small earthquake was felt in the greater Wellington region this morning at 8-09am.
The quake was centred 10kms north-west of Porirua at a depth of 50kms and was registered as a 4.3.
In recent weeks there has been several earthquakes but a spokesperson for GNZ Science says “there is nothing abnormal happening, these are just regular earthquakes that happen in many places around the country.”
“Some are not even posted on our website because they are too small but are recorded,” said the spokesperson.
