By Senior Sergeant Anita Dixon

Very quiet for us over the weekend, which enabled Police staff to focus on road policing. A large proportion of their time was spend on prevention with regards to road policing, ie checkpoints and conducting hi-vis patrols on the State Highway.
Over the weekend there were a total of seven drivers processed in Kapiti for drink driving.
On the 31st of May, there was a crash on Nikau Palm Road where a car has ended up down a bank.
The woman driver was taken to hospital with minr injuries and was checked out. It’s unknown at this stage what caused the crash, and a blood sample will be taken to determine if she was driving under the influence.
There was a total of four burglaries since Friday through until this morning:
- A $7000 boat was stolen from an address in Ruahine Street, Paraparaumu
- Electronic gear was stolen from an address in Martin Road, Paraparaumu Beach
