Benefiting the community
In the Footsteps of the Marines puts money back into the Kapiti community.
This years run/walk was well supported by participants from the Coast and further afield and has enabled the Kapiti Joggers and Walkers to donate more than $2200 to local groups and charities.
$1000 is going to Youth Quest Kapiti, and other groups who will benefit are
~ Whareoa Gaurdians
~ The Tramway Museum
~ The Kapiti United States Marines Trust
~ The Raumati Scouts
~ Raumati Beach School
~ Kapiti Running & Tri Club.
For the event The Joggers and Walkers made use of the Wellington Free Ambulance and they have received $550.
Feedback from the event has been very positive including comments from Kate Watterson who features in our photo of the week.
