Music to stir the Scottish soul
Last Saturday Weka Park was alive with the sound of Scottish music.
For the 1-2 million New Zealanders who have some Scots ancestry, it is music which makes the heart beat faster.
12 bands were featuring in the annual Wellington – Hawke’s Bay Championships and there were plenty of prizes to be won.
One of the big prize winners was the Manawatu Grade 1 band, who are New Zealand’s finest and currently ranked 9th in the world. They will be competing at the World Championships on Glasgow Green in August.
