Voting starts in by-election
1 February 2011
Voting in the Ōtaki Community Board by-election has started and as of this morning 1406 postal votes had been received, Electoral Officer Jude Wadsworth reports.
“This is equivalent to 23.35% of the total number of eligible voters,” she said.
“If you are not enrolled or have not received your voting documents and wish to register a vote then Special Voting is available at the Ōtaki Library from Monday to Saturday next week between 10am and 2pm and then from 9am to 5pm from February 7 to 10 and until noon on February 11, the last time and day for votes to be received.
“We are counting the votes progressively and we expect that, unless there is a final large rush of votes on the last day, we will have a results announcement later on the afternoon of February 11,” Jude Wadsworth said.
