Kapiti College Snr Boys Team - champions (1)The College Basketball season just wrapped up at the end of August with some great results from our area. Teams from Kapiti and Paraparaumu College did very well in both the senior and junior grades.

Making the finals and winning some
~ Paraparaumu College Senior Boys: Coached by Steve Botica made it through to theDivsion 1 semi-finals, and were just piped at the post by Wainuiomata going down 69 to 70.
~ Kapiti College Senior Boys: Coached by Shane Whaanga won their Championship Final winning 71 to 60 against Upper Hutt. (Featured in the photo above.)
~ Kapiti College Senior Girls: Coached by Fabian Pappafloratus and Peter Lambert were runners-up in their Championship Final losing by 1 point to WRM Te Rito (Otaki) 48 to 47
~ Kapiti College Junior Girls – Coached by Raima Kingi won their Championship Final winning 40 to 26 against Paraparaumu College Junior Girls

These are excellent results and reflect the great effort and commitment by all our players, coaches and managers here in Kapiti.

With the growth in Basketball here on the Kapiti Coast I know that all the Colleges are expecting to field more teams in the Wellington Secondary Schools Basketball Competition next year.
