“Nominations for the Labour candidacy for the Otaki electorate in the 2017 general election have opened,” Bruce Taylor, spokesperson for the Otaki Labour Electorate Committee, said today.
“Labour’s preparation for the 2017 general election is in full swing well ahead of previous elections.
The opening of nominations for the first selections of candidates in a number of electorates, including in Otaki, has been announced by the party’s Head Office,” he said.
“Labour in Otaki is seeking an outstanding candidate to put in front of the voters. The person we select will begin campaigning immediately to win the party vote for Labour and also to send the current National member, Nathan Guy, into retirement.”
At the same time, nominations of candidates for inclusion on the Labour list in 2017 have opened.
Nominations for the Otaki candidacy close on 29 April 2016.
Details on the nomination process are available from the Head Office of the Labour Party.
