Quad Bike Victim Flown Out

The Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Paraparaumu at about 5.30pm to help a hunter injured in a quad bike accident.
The helicopter, with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic on board, flew to Maungakotukutuku Road, where a 53-year-old man had been injured.
The injured man was driving a quad bike on to the back of a ute when it flipped backwards end over end.
The hunter suffered moderate back injuries as the bike rolled over him.
When the helicopter arrived it was able to land at the scene of the accident, where the patient was being assessed and treated by Free Ambulance paramedics.
He was then transferred to the helicopter and flown to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he was assessed and treated for his injuries.
