Dr Adele Cherrill, president of the College Parents’ Association, says they’re holding the car boot sale on Saturday, 4th May, to raise money for an outside, automated defibrillator.
A Kāpiti parents group is organising a ‘Great Car-Boot Sale’ to provide a heart defibrillator for Paraparaumu College and the local community.
‘Many out of hours activities happen at the college – sports on weekends, productions and concerts in the evenings, and national and international activities,’ she says.
Important for the College and community
‘We feel it’s important that all visitors and the local community have access to a defibrillator if the need arises.’
The Association organises CPR training with the Wellington Free Ambulance so that students know how to remain calm and offer life-saving skills.
Wellington Free Ambulance training
Dr Cherill adds: “We hope this Car Boot Sale will raise the money we need to provide this Defibrillator which will be maintained by Wellington Free Ambulance.”
The car boot sale runs from 8am – 11am at Paraparaumu College, Mazengarb Road, Paraparaumu.
To book a car space, contact Adele (only $20 for a space). Her email is: ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’.
And there will be cakes, sausages, coffee and boomerang bags provided by the Parents’ Association, who say ‘there’ll be lots of great bargains for everyone. ‘
