Friends of the Libraries Competition 2017

The theme of The Friends of the Kapiti Coast District Libraries Literary Festival 2017 is The Play’s the Thing.

In conjunction with the festival we invite you to write a short, dramatic monologue or dialogue. 

Prizes of $100, $60 and $30 will be awarded to the three top entries as well as the opportunity to have your story published by the sponsors: Kapiti News.  They will also be read on the radio.

The winners of the competition will be announced at the Festival Launch on Friday, 13 October at 7:30pm.

Competition rules

  • This competition is open to Kapiti and Horowhenua residents over 18 years of age.

·       You must submit your entry no later than 12 noon on Thursday 5 October.

  • Your entry must be a hard copy original, typed and double-spaced on A4 paper, and no more than 500 words.
  • You may enter as many times as you wish – include an entry form (photocopies are fine) and a $5 fee with each entry.
  • Write your name on the accompanying entry form only, NOT on your story.
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
