Central District Police have located six people on their ‘Wanted Persons’ webpage since it was launched six days ago

Central District Intelligence Manager, Inspector Peter Thurston says: “It’s been a week since the launch of the webpage and during this time we have had a fantastic response from the public.

“Information that we have received from members of the public has assisted us in locating three of the six, and we are greatly appreciative of the public support.”\

The six people located were from a range of locations throughout the District including Feilding, Stratford, Palmerston North, Marton, and New Plymouth.

Police have also received information from Crimestoppers regarding three other people on the webpage.

“Over the past week the Central District Wanted Persons webpage and the ‘Wanted to Identify’ webpage had just over a combined total of 7,300 site visits.

“We are also appreciative of the support from local media who have been getting the message out to communities about the webpage,” says Inspector Thurston.

Police strongly encourage anyone that has any information regarding any of the people on the page, or their activities to contact their local police station, or send Police an email at centralwanteds@police.govt.nz.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
