Library Friends Return Their Books After 27 Years

After some 27 years, the revived Friends of the Kapiti Coast Libraries have disbanded.

This was done at an Annual General Meeting and Special General Meeting of the Friends.

Chair Anthony Dreaver says:

“?We regret that winding up seemed the best option.

However, we’re proud of what FOL has achieved over many years, both in advocacy and in cultural enrichment.

However, we’re assured that the library will continue the literary programme.

“There are four great centres of culture in Kapiti: Te Wananga at Otaki for Maoritanga, Toi Mahara at Waikanae for visual arts, Te Raukura at Raumati for performance, and the four libraries for the written word.

What a galaxy!

Do keep up your support for the libraries, and stay ready to jump into action at any attempt to weaken them.

“Thank you for your participation and friendship. E noho ra.
