And he says Harry and Meghan get it about right in their Netflix series.

The ‘popular’ press in Britain have virtually no ethics — and most stories bear only a passing resemblance to the truth,’ he says.

‘I recall one ex-Express journalist I worked with at Independent Television News.

I asked him how he managed to get someone to quote on a major story.

“Oh, he said,’ I just make up the quote myself and attribute it to Mr John Bloggs of a road in north London.

“This road has more than a thousand homes in it. And no-one is going to be able to knock on all their doors to check me out!”
