The Raumati Little Library

By Roger Childs

It’s the brain-child of Paraparaumu librarian, Nisa Promchot.

The idea is to bring books to  the people in their local communities.

Users are encourage to take one / leave one, or just add to the stock.

The colourful Little Library is the first of its kind in the area, but has encouraged other communities to set up their own.

Plans are underway in Waikanae and Paekakariki to provide such book options for locals.

It’s a great concept and means that there is an alternative to travelling to one of the four Kapiti District libraries.

Ms Promchot is to be congratulated on an excellent community initiative.
