Kāpiti Coast young people are being urged to speak out about upcoming event, Youthfest 2011.
The event is aimed at young people, and the Kāpiti Coast Youth Council want to make it bigger and better than last year with more things to do for the young people attending.
“A focus for the Council is involving young people in decision making, including Youthfest,” says Mark Hammond, Youth Council Coordinator.
Young people are being encouraged to give their thoughts to the Youth Council about what they want to see at the event on March 12 at Maclean Park, Paraparaumu Beach.
“We want as many opinions and ideas from young people about Youthfest as possible so we can get it right,” says Dermott Ferris, Youth Council member.
At this stage activities planned for Youthfest include: Live music from local talent, a skate competition hosted by Cheapskates and featuring national pro James Huntly, Graffiti art to participate in, as well as food, summer sports, dancing and rock climbing.
“There are plenty more opportunities for people to be involved, we just need to hear from you,” said Dermott.
