Terisa Triumphs in Ōtaki

Against all the odds, novice candidate Terisa Ngobi, of Levin, has triumphed in the Ōtaki  Electorate.

Terisa, who come from an Aotearoa Samoan family, has beaten National Tim Costley by 1,267 votes in the Preliminary results.

She gained 17,926 votes, to Tim Costley’s 16,659. She’s reportedly the first Pacifika candidate elected in the Ōtaki electorate.

In the Party vote, Labour got 51.4%, National 27.7%.

We are all very thrilled with the success of Terisa in the election. May God bless you and give you strength in your new challenge.
As ex Kapiti residents we wish her well.
