PIPER FAMILY PLEA FOR MORE INFORMATION FROM KAPITI PEOPLEBy Alan Tristram 28 May 2010
The family of missing Kapiti man, Raymond (‘Son’) Piper, appeared at the Paraparaumu Police station today to make an emotional appeal for more help from the public.
Through their spokesperson, Raymond’s partner Hanna, they asked anyone with any information at all to contact the police search team ( 0800 FIND RAY; text 027 241 1394).
Speaking for the whole family at a packed media conference, Hanna also asked people to check bushes and scrub near their homes and look for any signs of ‘Son’ when walking in parks or reserves.
‘Past 13 days the worst in our lives’
She said:”The past 13 days have been the worst we have ever faced in our lives, not knowing when,or if, son is going to come walking through that door and we can pretend the nightmare never began.”
She also gave a touching description of Son (23), who’s father of their three-year-old son, Cayman:”He is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy.
“He’d give you the shirt off his back. He had a heart of gold and wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
And she said Cayden was ‘like his daddy in many ways.’
“We have searched high and low”
Hanna said the family had “searched high and low, and so have the police, and still we are no closer to finding him.”
“We are tired, exhausted and desperate and we need help from the community,” she said.
“Someone, somewhere must know where son is.
“If you know something, but are too scared to come forward, the Police will treat the information confidentially and you will be protected.”
Message for Son
Hanna ended her message with a special message to her partner:
“Our last message is for you, Son.
“Son, we love you so much.If you are watching this, we want you home. We love you and we just want you home.
“Our son misses you. He wants you home.”
