Kāpiti police arrest two over BMW theft
By Alan Tristram
Kāpiti police say they’ve arrested two people in connection with the BMW racing bike stolen from a Waikanae property three weeks ago.
They say they got several calls from the public over the stolen bike,’which was encouraging.’
Police called for help after the BMW bike was stolen from a garage in a property at Greenaway Road in Waikanae. Earlier a Harley Davidson motorbike was stolen from the carpark outside the Jolly Miller pub in Paraparaumu.Detective Douglas Nuku says:
“As a result of a fingerprint hit, we executed several search warrants last week and arrested two Levin offenders for the burglary to the address in Greenaway Road, Waikanae.
“Property from the Greenaway burglary was located at their address including $3,000 worth of builders’ tools stolen from a vehicle in Palmerston North the previous night.
The BMW motorbike was not found. However, Detective Nuku says, the offenders had a digital camera with photographs of family members sitting on the stolen BMW motorbike which was parked in their garage.
So the motorbike is now the focus of the investigation.
And there is no news at present on the whereabouts of the stolen Harley Davidson.
