 We are pleased to announce that our newest columnist,Kiwi journalist Frances Mountier, will be reporting direct from Berlin for six months.

Frances, grand-daughter of Kapiti locals Barbara and Neil Mountier, completed an MA in Creative Writing at the IIML (International Institute of  Modern Letters) in 2009, and has also studied at the Christchurch School of Young Writers and at Whitireia Community Polytechnic.  This year Frances is living in Berlin for six months with her partner.

 

Her work has been published in Turbine, Sport, Takahē, Renegade House, Hue & Cry, JAAM, An Aotearoa Affair and Flash Frontier.  Frances was the 2012/13 recipient of the Lavinia Fellowship at New Pacific Studio Mt Bruce (January 2013).

Frances was active in the Save Happy Valley campaign during her years at university.

Later she moved to Wellington, where she was involved in the TPP Action Group, Coal Action Network Aotearoa and most recently Oil Free Wellington.  She’s on the committee for Radical Action Grants.
