Manchester: We Mourn With You

Manchester and (NZ) United against terror

Editorial by Alan Tristram

We extend our deepest sympathy to the people of Manchester, and the UK, who are suffering from yet another terrorist outrage.

Over the years, many Mancunians have settled on the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua, so we think of them at this time too.

We know that the qualities that make Manchester people great — determination, gritty courage, and solid working-class camaraderie — will carry them through these, the worst of times.

Thank you Alan for your loving words about the events in Manchester and for thinking of the people here on the Kapiti Coast who were brought up there. Even thought I am a true New Zealander now, after 40 odd years here, part of my heart will always be there, in the place of my birth. This latest tragedy has had me needing to “hold hands” across the world to give and to receive strength today.
Kind regards
Julie Leibrich

Well said Alan, tonight our families thoughts are with all those in Manchester, birthplace of our (now very Kapiti ) Darby family relatives.
