Labour MP’s travelling through New Zealand to protest against the Government’s planned GST rise will reach Paraparaumu at 4.15pm on Saturday.
Their bus will park near McLean Park on Marine Parade for about 30 minutes so the Parliamentarians can mingle with the public to discuss the tax issue.
Mana’s M.P., Luamanuvao Winnie Laban, says:
“At a time when the Government is borrowing hundreds of millions each month, it is promising substantial income tax reductions to the country’s top earners.
“Most of my constituents on less than the average wage of $48,600 will get crumbs only.”
Ms. Laban also says she hopes that Mana and Otaki people will assemble numbers to welcome the bus and to demonstrate to the travelling MP’s that they share their disapproval of National’s plans.
