The Kapiti Coast District Council say they’ve finished preparations for the new Raumati/Rimu Road roundabout and they’ve now started work on the centre of the project.
Cones have been set out in the centre and traffic has started using the new configuration as a roundabout.
The KCDC says motorists must follow the rules for using a roundabout.
It says that, as with all new road layouts, motorists need to take care and to allow for some hesitation by other road users who may be confused about the new layout.
The Council’s Road Safety Coordinator, Jane Pearson, says: “Treat it like any T-shaped roundabout.
“Give way to your right and to traffic turning right — and, above all, be patient,” she says.
