Possible sighting of valuable motorbike stolen from Waikanae property

By Alan Tristram

Kāpiti police say one of two valuable motorcycles stolen last weekend — a BMW racing motorbike (pictured left) — has possibly been seen in Palmerston North.

They say the bike, stolen  from a private garage in Greenaway Road, Waikanae, may have been painted white underneath.

They are seeking any information from the public about sightings of the motorbike or personal knowledge of its whereabouts.

People are asked to contact Constable Douglas Nuku of the Kapiti Police (027) 2707735 if they have information.

He says all calls are treated in confidence. He also says the owner has no insurance and adds ‘we can’t let these offenders think they can get away with this sort of behaviour in our town.’

The motorbike can only be used for racing on approved tracks and has no headlights.

Paraparaumu theft

The other bike stolen was  a Blue Harley Davidson motorbike registration A3AQQ. It was taken from the front car park area of the Jolly Miller bar, in Paraparaumu.

The owner of the motorbike was inside the bar at the time of the theft — between 7pm and 11:30pm last Friday.

Kāpiti Police say:”We are keen to speak to any person(s) who were at the bar that night and witnessed the motorbike being tampered with or anyone hanging around it.”

Again, people with information are asked to phone Constable Douglas Nuku on (027) 2707735.
