Kapiti Gateway Getting $2.2 Million From The Govt

The Kapiti Council says it’s been told it’ll get $2.23 million from the Provincial Growth Fund for the GATEWAY to Kapiti Island.

The news came first from Group Manager James Jefferson.Place & Space

He says: “Today Infrastructure Minister Shane Jones announced that $2.23million will be allocated from the government’s $3 billion COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund towards the Kapiti Gateway project.

“We were not alerted to the fact that this news would be announced today and have yet to receive official communication from the Fund.

“A press release has been issued by the Minister’s office but has yet to be published to the Beehive website.  .

“Please note: we plan to issue a statement later today acknowledging the government’s commitment to Kapiti.”
