In NSW thousands in isolation as cluster threatens regions

New South Wales recorded four new locally acquired COVID-19 cases yesterday, while an additional case will be added to the total for today. Thousands of people are in isolation.

New South Wales has closed its borders with other States — and thousands of people from Victoria have been trapped away from home.

Young man travelled thousands of kilometres

The additional case in NSW today is a young man who travelled some thousands of kilometres in rural NSW while unknowingly infectious, visiting towns such as Orange and Broken Hill.

Shoppers who went to Woolworths in Berala between 20 December and 31 December have been urged to get tested and self-isolate until they get the result.

Meanwhile people from ‘hotspot’ suburbs linked to a cluster in Berala will be fined $A1,000 if they try to attend the next Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
