In previous years rats and possums have eaten out the new kohekohe shoots before any flowers could appear, so thanks to the efforts of local trappers there is now a wonderful display to enjoy. Glenda Robb
Blossoming in Whareroa Farm

One on nature great gifts are flowers that bloom in late autumn and early winter.
Around the Kapiti area camellias are now in full bud and the first blossoms have appeared.
Meanwhile down in the forest at Whareroa Farm the kohekohe trees are sprouting their wonderful flowers straight from their trunks.
A sight to behold in the next week or two.
