Happy overall with NZTA’s DecisionBy Graeme Trask 16th December 2009
Kapiti Coast District Councillor David Scott says he is very happy with the government’s decision to finally give the go-ahead for transmission gully and the four laning of the Western Link road.
Mr Scott was out of the area at the time of the announcement, but in a brief statement when contacted by Kapiti Independent News he said that he had some concerns about the design of the Western Link road and that the NZTA had to make sure that there was adequate consultation with the community to solve some issues such as access in particular.
Mr Scott said that the decision was a positive one which will allow progress in the area now and will bring about more opportunities for people looking for work.
And he said transmission gully which has been discussed and put on the back burner for many years will also bring more work to the area.
“I am very happy with the decision”
