Kapanui School Mourns Loss of Frank Van Kampen

Frank Van KampenKapanui School in Waikanae says the children, staff and school community are shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Frank Van Kampen.
Mr Kampen, 46, was killed when his cycle was hit by a car near Te Horo on Friday last week.
The School says he was appointed as a teacher at Kapanui in 2004 and was highly respected by the staff, children and parents.

It says:”Frank will be remembered as a caring and fun loving teacher. We have contacted the Ministry of Education’s Trauma Team who are providing advice and assisting the school.
“We also have extra staff on hand to help with supervision at play time and lunch time — and to provide support for children who need it during class time.
Staff representatives have visited Frank’s partner and family and offered them the condolences of our school community and offers of any support or help we are able to give.

The funeral will be held on Friday…..25th September at the Kapanui School hall, Rimu Street, Waikanae at 1pm.
