He says:“Being involved at these levels in the community you certainly get to know a lot of people and hear about their concerns.

“I see the community board as a forum for the community for community ideas, concerns and opinions.

And, he says, there are so many issues of relevance to Paraparaumu/Raumati area that one has to ask where has the community board

been.

Mr Booth would wants to see this change so that local people want to turn up express and discuss their concerns.

“This is what community boards are all about and there for,” he says.

Mr Booth says the biggest local problem is roading — followed by the development of Paraparaumu airport.

He adds: “As the development of the airport starts to happen this is going to have an impact on everything else and will have to link in with the roading.”
