From Scoop today
Police have arrested three young people in relation to the arson which occurred last night at Paraparaumu School.
The fire started around 7.15pm and extensively damaged one of the school blocks.
“The three young people will appear in the Porirua Youth Court but that appearance date is yet to be confirmed,” says Detective Inspector George Faalogo of the Kapiti Mana CIB.
The Fire Service and Police investigators conducted a scene examination at the school today. Police will also continue other inquiries as part of the wider investigation.
“Police have been asked to advise the community that Paraparaumu School will be closed for the entire week with classes to resume next week.
“While one of the buildings was destroyed, outer buildings are still intact which will enable the school and its teachers to welcome students back next Monday” says Mr Faalogo.
“Our thanks go to the school community for the information that they provided. Their assistance has meant that we have been able to get a quick resolution in this case and we are very grateful”
