Cabaret star at Southwards

Ali Harper, ‘the lady with the golden voice’ from Christchurch, is performing at Southwards on Friday 10 May at 7.30pm Legendary jazz musician, Rodger Fox, will also feature with a seven-piece band.

 Ali has an amazing vocal range as well as great stage presence and an ability to establish excellent rapport with her audience. Her remarkable versatility enables her to sing in the manner of vocalists like Peggy Lee, Shirley Bassey, Edith Piaf, Eva Cassidy and Doris Day, as well as demonstrate a distinctive style of her own.

 Not surprisingly, Ali’s talent has gained international recognition and in June she will be heading for New York to perform at the famous jazz cabaret The Metropolitan Room

At Southwards she’ll be singing a great range of popular songs from musicals and the charts, and these are all on her recently released double CD Naughty and Nice which will be on sale on the night.
